Commissioning and mine expansion
In its 9 April release, Acron had described Ammonia No. 3 as undergoing commissioning at increased capacity after the main reconstruction work. Its first-quarter output was 27% above the comparable 2024 period. The April release also announced plans to commission a third crushing-and-conveyor complex at Oleniy Ruchey during 2025, targeting greater underground-mine productivity. It set a full-year apatite-concentrate production target of 1.4 million tonnes. That statement also envisaged a similar reconstruction of another ammonia unit during the year.
Repairs and production in 2024
Interfax's 20 January report recorded repairs and modernisation on three of the group's four ammonia units during 2024. Work covered Novgorod's third and fourth units and Dorogobuzh's sole unit. Annual ammonia production fell 5%, affecting fertiliser output. The 2024 product table recorded 1.495 million tonnes of urea, including 1.246 million tonnes of granulated urea. Urea-ammonium nitrate solution output stood at 740,000 tonnes, down from 1.107 million tonnes in 2023.
Investment behind the production programme
In its 24 March results announcement, Acron reported group-wide capital expenditure of 46.5 billion roubles for 2024. Management identified ammonia modernisation as a major chemical-segment investment. Its downstream plans included a second calcium-nitrate unit in 2025 and completion of reconstruction of urea units 1–4 in 2026.
The same announcement described completed infrastructure work at Oleniy Ruchey's underground mine: a connection to the auxiliary shaft and construction of a second main ventilation-and-heating installation. The company said those works expanded the mine's underground ore-extraction capabilities.
