Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus opened a transmission plant in Uzlovaya industrial park, Tula Region, Interfax reported. Annual capacity exceeds 180,000 units. Assembly and machining form the first stage; housing casting and locally produced shaft and gear blanks are planned later.
An existing manufacturing base
The new facility joins Haval's production site in Russia. In its earlier production update covering March 2026, the company described 364 robots and automation in stamping, welding and painting. Its manufacturing history includes petrol-engine production since March 2024, with displacements of 1.5 and 2.0 litres.
A 4,700-square-metre workshop added in 2025 introduced separate machining lines for cylinder blocks and cylinder heads. Those engine-component operations preceded the transmission opening; they are not new September commissioning figures.
That earlier update marked cumulative production of 450,000 vehicles. It was a vehicle-production count, not transmission output.
The company's 6 March 2024 engine-factory announcement described five industrial manipulators on that production line. Every assembled engine underwent a hot test: a first start on a test bench, with results compared against reference parameters. Engines then went to finished-goods storage before delivery to vehicle assembly. This earlier engine-testing process is separate from the transmission commissioning.
The June production milestone
On 11 June, Haval announced that cumulative vehicle production had passed 500,000 since the factory's 2019 launch. The milestone vehicle was an H3 crossover. The announcement coincided with the plant's seventh anniversary and described inspections extending from incoming checks to tests of finished vehicles.
- A light tunnel checks appearance and consumer characteristics.
- Functional testing checks the adjustment and calibration of assemblies.
- Water testing checks body sealing, followed by driving tests on the factory's proving ground.
The June release also reported more than 154,000 F-series crossovers manufactured over the factory's first seven years. That cumulative figure covers multiple production years, rather than annual capacity.
Further expansion
Completion of the larger components complex remains scheduled for 2027.
