Netflix announced a slate of television party games on October 9, 2025, ahead of the holiday season. Phones would serve as controllers. The company announcement included Boggle Party, a word game, and Pictionary: Game Night, based on drawing and guessing. Tetris Time Warp and LEGO Party! were also among the planned releases.
The announcement included Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, a social-deduction game.
Gaming investment under scrutiny
In its October 20 report, Reuters described investor scrutiny of Netflix's advertising and gaming investments before its quarterly earnings announcement. Earlier that year, the company had stopped disclosing subscriber numbers and directed investors towards revenue and profit.
The results were due the following day.
Earlier television testing
The earlier August 14, 2023 announcement described a limited test for a small group in Canada and the United Kingdom. Selected televisions were the initial devices; access through supported computer browsers was planned for the following weeks.
- The initial test titles were Oxenfree, from Night School Studio, and Molehew's Mining Adventure, a gem-mining arcade game.
- Computer players would use a keyboard and mouse.
- The beta was intended to test game streaming and the controller.
The computer expansion covered PCs and Macs, using Netflix.com rather than a television.
The mobile launch came in 2021
Netflix had launched five mobile games on November 2, 2021. Its announcement included two Stranger Things titles alongside Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up. At that launch, the games were included in membership without advertising, additional fees or in-app purchases. They were not available on children's profiles. Some required an internet connection, while others supported offline play. A dated update on November 9 separately announced worldwide iOS availability. These were the terms and device milestones described for the original mobile launch. Game languages followed the profile preference, with English as the fallback.
