Catalytic People has acquired 25% of Selectel, an IT-infrastructure provider in Russia. Reuters reported the transaction on 29 December 2025, citing T-Technologies. The approximately 16 billion rouble investment gives the joint venture between T-Technologies and Interros a minority holding in the cloud-infrastructure business.
T-Technologies president Stanislav Bliznyuk linked the purchase to infrastructure for the group's artificial-intelligence products. Interros, Vladimir Potanin's holding company, owns 41% of T-Technologies, which controls T-Bank.

Existing shareholders sell their shares
The buyer's announcement specifies a purchase from existing shareholders, financed with cash flows from Catalytic People's earlier technology investments. The payment is therefore not described as newly issued equity funding for Selectel. T-Technologies owns 50.01% of the investment vehicle; Interros holds 49.99%.
Planned cooperation includes additional computing capacity and complementary business-facing technology products. The announcement presents these as opportunities for collaboration, not completed integrations. Selectel's activities span data-centre design and operation, server manufacturing and infrastructure and platform services delivered through the cloud.
The operating position before the acquisition
Selectel's 10 November results announcement used management accounts consistent with international financial-reporting principles. Its figures cover January–September 2025:
- Revenue reached 13.5 billion roubles, increasing 42% year on year.
- Adjusted EBITDA rose 44% to 7.8 billion roubles.
- Net profit declined 5% to 2.5 billion roubles.
Infrastructure spending continued
The company attributed the profit decline to higher interest, depreciation and tax expenses. Capital expenditure totalled 6 billion roubles, including 3.7 billion for servers and 2.1 billion for data-centre infrastructure. These reported expenditures precede the December share transaction; they describe Selectel's existing investment programme.
