Canva combined Affinity's photo, vector and layout tools in October 2025.

The Windows and Mac application was free with a Canva account; optional AI features required premium membership.

Changes reported in the new application

Forbes described Image Trace, which converts raster images such as JPEG or PNG files into vectors. It also reported new filter brushes in Pixel mode, including glitch effects applied non-destructively. A unified iPad application was expected in early 2026, rather than released alongside the desktop version.

Manufacturer-announced capabilities

Canva also described saving multiple custom studio setups and sharing or downloading them. Its announcement presented these as product capabilities, not results from independent file-compatibility testing.

Other publishing tools in the same launch

The company's 30 October Creative Operating System release placed Affinity alongside additions to its wider platform. Email Design allowed marketing-email designs to be exported as HTML files for distribution through another email platform. Forms could collect responses from websites or other designs and send them into Canva Sheets. The release also introduced Canva Business between Pro and Enterprise, with expanded storage, higher AI usage and print discounts. These were separate Canva offerings, not a list of functions inside Affinity.

The team before the relaunch

Canva's 26 March 2024 acquisition announcement said Affinity brought a 90-person team based in the United Kingdom. At that time, the company reported more than three million creative professionals using the suite. Those were historical descriptions of the acquired business, not user counts for the subsequently unified application.
