Incab opened a submarine fibre-optic cable factory in Primorsky Krai on June 10, 2026. The site complements production in Perm: the cable core is made there, while the Far Eastern operation produces finished cable for marine communications links.
The production chain reaches the quay
According to the company, the Primorye location allows products to be transferred directly to cable-laying ships. This is an important feature of the supply arrangement: the final manufacturing operation and the handover of a long cable to a vessel belong to the same project, but require different work to be organised.
From opening to acceptance
On August 13, 2026, the company separately reported completion of the first acceptance of finished submarine cable at the Far Eastern site. The announcements therefore identify different milestones: opening the factory and subsequently accepting its product. Neither milestone, by itself, means that a marine link has already been laid and commissioned.
Connecting the factory with a marine project
For a customer, the existence of a production site is not the only consideration. The handover to the next participant also needs to be coordinated. A long cable cannot be treated as a collection of ordinary boxes that can be rearranged between sailings without consequence. Preparation for handover needs to match the particular delivery. This is editorial explanation, not a description of additional obligations announced by Incab.
- The production plan identifies the product that should be ready by an agreed date.
- Acceptance documents connect the manufactured item with the order requirements.
- The handover plan establishes the sequence of work at the boundary between factory and vessel.
- Marine-project records concern subsequent work that should not be confused with factory output.
Separating those stages helps readers interpret manufacturing news without substituting one result for another. An open workshop, an accepted batch and a working communications link are not interchangeable measures. Independent stages sit between them, each requiring its own evidence of completion.
What successive announcements add
The June opening shows a change in the group's production structure. The August acceptance adds information about a particular operating step. Together, the announcements provide a more substantial picture than an opening ceremony alone, but they do not establish annual sales, the profitability of the business line or its future utilisation. Those conclusions would require separate reporting.
This update concerns a production site and product handover, not the investment merits of the company. The technical requirements of an individual marine project are determined by its documentation; the explanatory points here do not replace engineering design or agreement of delivery arrangements.
