Maruti Suzuki began Indian deliveries of the e VITARA on 17 February 2026. Its battery-as-a-service offering is a dual-loan finance product, subject to the lender's approval and terms.
Charging support
Suzuki reported more than 2,000 exclusive Maruti Suzuki charging points across over 1,100 cities. Its separate 2030 target was to enable over 100,000 points through dealers and charging-operator partners. The company also described mobile service vehicles supporting its electric-vehicle workshops.
Development and presentation
Before the Indian launch
- In November 2024, Suzuki unveiled the e VITARA in Milan. It followed the eVX concept shown in India in January and Japan in October 2023. The global presentation described an eAxle combining the motor and inverter, lithium iron-phosphate batteries and the dedicated HEARTECT-e platform. Its specification table concerned the European version, not the equipment offered in India. The platform description also noted a floor without underfloor members, designed to maximise battery capacity.
- In January 2025, Suzuki displayed the Indian-specification production model at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. Eight vehicles in different colours appeared alongside cut-away vehicles and technical exhibits, including the eAxle. Public exhibition dates were 19–22 January, following the media days.
- On 26 August 2025, Suzuki held a dispatch ceremony at its Gujarat plant. The company said the vehicles would leave through Pipavav port for overseas markets, including Europe and Japan. This was a factory-dispatch milestone, before the Indian retail launch.
European shipments preceded Indian deliveries
A 1 September 2025 release reported that more than 2,900 e VITARA vehicles had been shipped from Pipavav during August to twelve European countries.
