Rosseti and Yandex Set Out a Neighbourhood Charging Plan

The July 2024 announcement distinguished the first 20 stations from a year-end target of about 200, with infrastructure and operating work split between partners.

Rosseti Moscow Region and Yandex Zapravki outlined a neighbourhood electric-vehicle charging project in Moscow in July 2024. The announcement described an initial group of 20 stations and a target of about 200 in total by the end of that year. This company update revisits the announcement; it is not a current directory of available chargers.

Using space beside residential substations

Interfax reported on 16 July that the partners divided the work between electricity-network infrastructure and charging operations. Rosseti Moscow Region provided space at transformer substations and grid-connection work. Yandex supplied charging equipment and software and handled operating support. The proposed setting was residential courtyards, bringing charging closer to where drivers leave their cars.

The company announcement is available at https://rossetimr.ru/press/company_news/item250405.php. The distinction between the first installed group and the larger target is essential: a programme's intended size should not be presented as its completed operating footprint.

What the location means for a potential user

A neighbourhood charger and a stop on a long-distance journey serve different parking routines. For someone assessing a nearby location, the practical questions are whether the bay can be reached when needed, whether the vehicle can use the connector and whether the available parking period fits the intended session. Proximity alone does not settle those questions.

Project information and enquiries

These checks are reader guidance, not additional promises made by the partners in 2024. They also separate two different conversations: a driver's enquiry about an existing charger and a property-related enquiry about placing new infrastructure. A request concerning a possible site is not evidence that a charger has been approved or installed there.

Rosseti Moscow Region maintains information about its charging services at https://rossetimr.ru/client/services/electromobil/electromobil-y/. That current service page is a route for further enquiries, separate from the dated announcement reviewed here. Availability and the conditions applicable to a particular location should be checked directly when needed.
